The historical figure of the first Duke of Urbino, Oddantonio da Montefeltro, was crushed by the overwhelming weight of the half-brother Frederick, risen to power after his murder in 1444.

Oddantonio was assassinated just seventeen, when he succeeded his father a few months. Yet such an ephemeral historical presence has left us evidence of heraldic very interesting, somewhat astounding, compared standardization of the heavy documentation found in the more usual heraldry of the family.

And 'what emerges from our investigation on the seals of Oddantonio, accomplished in the state archives of Mantua, Siena and the Republic of San Marino.

One of the new data certainly compared to the consolidated historical publications and heraldry, is that the quartered arms of Montefeltro was already Oddantonio, if not before and not with Guidantonio Federico.
